tap by tap is an adaptive maths practice tool for primary school children. It focuses on the fundamentals — times tables, number bonds, and mental arithmetic — the building blocks that underpin all later maths learning.
Practice is available directly in the browser with no app to install. Children can start immediately without an account, and sign up free to save their progress and results across sessions.
Fluency in times tables and number bonds doesn't come from rote recitation — it comes from repeated, targeted practice over time. We built tap by tap to make that practice as efficient and low-friction as possible: no distractions, just focused exercises that adapt to what each child needs most.
The adaptive learning engine tracks which facts a child finds difficult and prioritises those, so every minute of practice counts.
The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) is a statutory government assessment for Year 4 pupils in England. Our MTC module replicates the exact format of the real test — 25 questions, 6 seconds per question, 3-second gaps between questions — so children can practise under realistic conditions and build the confidence to perform well on the day.
